Dorset Dogs has been set up to promote positive management for dog walkers in green space and countryside places and to encourage responsible dog ownership.

Working with countryside managers Dorset Dogs recognises the positive impacts of dog owners in the countryside and the help and support they provide as the main users of countryside sites. The Doggy Do Code provides guidelines to help deal with issues that may arise in the countryside

Poole Playbuilder launchChildren in Poole have reason to celebrate  as five refurbished play areas across the borough were opened on Monday 15 February 2010.

Twenty-two play areas for 8-13 year olds will each receive funding of between £30,000 and £80,000 to improve and modernise play equipment by the end of March 2011 as part of the two-year National Play Strategy Playbuilder programme to improve children's play areas.

Ramblers logoThe East Dorset Ramblers Group will greet the advent of warmer weather with a varied four month programme of 55 walks plus a three day trek. Many walks are designed to take advantage of the seasonal show of wild flowers such as the daffodils, cowslips and bluebells to be found in our local countryside. In order to cater for a popular demand a number of short walks have been arranged, returning to the start point at mid day. There is the usual wide choice of  moderate and more strenuous full day walks.
